# Zuwiki for Open Source

Zuwiki is happy to support open source projects with sponsored access. We use Zuwiki for our own projects and know how much a clean documentation home matters for adoption.

## Who can apply

Any project that meets all of the following:

- The code is published under an OSI approved open source license.
- The repository is public and actively maintained.
- The wiki itself will be public, so the project's community can read it.

There is no hard rule on project size or popularity. A small library with an honest README is as welcome as a well known framework.

## What sponsored access includes

The exact set of perks depends on the project, but a typical sponsored organization gets:

- A higher member cap than the Free plan.
- Multiple wikis, useful when the project has both end user docs and contributor docs.
- A custom domain, like the rest of the plans.

Sponsored organizations are flagged internally and do not get billed.

## How to apply

Reach out by email and include:

- a link to the repository or project page
- the license
- a short note on what you would put in the wiki

We try to respond within a few working days. If the project fits, we set up the organization or upgrade your existing one and let you know what was granted.

## Existing users

If you are already on a paid plan and you maintain an open source project, you can still apply. Approved applications credit the difference, so you are not paying for a service we want to give you for free.

## A note on scope

This program is informal and we may pause it if demand outgrows what we can sustain. We will never silently downgrade an active sponsored organization, you will hear from us first if anything changes.
